Learning To Save Lives

There are many cases that can come in which a person may need to know how to save a life. No matter a person’s position in life, whether they are a professional or a laborer, it can be very beneficial for everyone to know how to supply basic life support, or bls.

There is a great program that offers bls training in NJ (New Jersey). A person can learn bls, cpr, and basic first aid. The bls training in NJ can be given in a person’s home or office. The basic life support classes offered are designed to provide healthcare providers an extra talent in recognizing life-threatening situations. The basic life support class will delve into important factors including:

  • Relieving choking victims in an effective, safe, and timely manner.
  • The use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
  • Providing CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) to preserve brain functions on a victim.

This course looks at both in hospital and out of hospital situations, giving the healthcare provider the latest technologies and systems to save lives.

Upon completion of bls training in NJ, the healthcare provider will be given a 2 year certification completion card by the American Heart Association. The program also provides AHA renewal courses which include:

  • Diver neurological assessment on the injured person. This can be quite beneficial for health care workers who work with deep sea divers.
  • First aid for marine life saving situations.
  • Using oxygen for on-site first aid.

Oceanside does offer many classes for those who are not health care workers too. It has been shown that in cases that someone is having a cardiac arrest, or someone is choking, nearly 70% of those within helping distance, don’t know how to help. If more individuals knew how to perform CPR, or how to help a person choking, more people would live.

CPR is not as difficult to learn as many people may think. It is a fact that approximately 300,000 cardiac arrests have occurred every year. In most cases, the person can be saved if someone in his/her vicinity knows how to perform CPR. It has been shown that if CPR is performed on a victim, their chances of survival double.

As stated in the first paragraph, anyone and everyone should know some basics on how to save lives. Oceanside offers many classes that can be designed for different situations. Along with bls training in NJ, they include:

  • First aid classes
  • Pediatric CPR
  • On location training
  • CPR AED training
