Do you provide corporate onsite CPR training for your employees and coworkers? If not, you should think about looking into CPR training programs and seeing if it’s something that your employees would be interested in. CPR training is important and useful for everyone, no matter their age or profession. The skills were once limited to lifeguards and medical professionals, but now more and more people are learning how to perform CPR because of the great benefits that the training can provide. Here are some of the biggest benefits of corporate onsite CPR training. If you’re interested in providing training to your employees, contact us today.
The idea of being thrust in a situation where you have to save someone’s life is very intimidating for most people. Without an understanding of CPR and training, many people feel helpless in these situations, and even if these situations never occur, the fact that they don’t know how to act can make them less confident. After completing CPR training, your employees will feel more confident because they know that they could potentially save someone’s life during an emergency.
Whenever your team has to work together, learn something new, and take on a new task, it’s a great opportunity for team-building in the office. Office safety is a fantastic project that can bring together employees from different departments and parts of an office, allowing them to collaborate and work together. Corporate onsite CPR training and first aid training can be part of these types of projects, or can be a great way to kick off an office safety program.
CPR programs do not focus solely on how to provide CPR. These programs can also teach your employees how to provide first aid and how to use an automated external defibrillator. This type of training will give your employees the skills to respond in any type of emergency situation in the workplace.
Ultimately, you provide corporate onsite CPR training so that your employees can use it if there is ever an emergency. Immediate CPR and defibrillation can be the difference between someone living or dying, so it’s extremely important that someone nearby is trained and ready to help. Only about 10% of people who suffer sudden cardiac arrest are able to survive by the time they reach the hospital. Providing CPR and defibrillation correctly and right away can double or even triple a person’s chance of surviving.
Not only will CPR training make the office safer, it will also make your employees’ homes much safer in the event of an emergency. Almost 90% of sudden cardiac arrests occur in the home, and with the proper training, your employees will be able to perform CPR on loved ones and family members. This type of training is especially important if family members have heart problems or if there are young children in the household. If a child has an issue, someone trained in CPR will know how to adjust the technique to make it more effective on a child.
These are just a few of the many benefits of corporate onsite CPR training. Your employees will be very grateful to you for providing corporate onsite CPR training, and the program will be very beneficial for your organization as well. Corporate onsite CPR training programs can be customized to include AED and first aid training, and they can be scheduled to be more convenient for a busy office with lots of deadlines. ]]>The American Heart Association‘s (AHA) BLS certification encompasses the correct methods for performing CPR on adults, children and infants, the proper use of defibrillators and choking relief. Situations and scenarios are presented both as in-hospital and out-of-hospital examples to prepare you for realistic emergencies that often take place far away from medical facilities.
In addition, the course focuses on teaching you how to recognize life-threatening situations and respond to them properly and in a timely manner. It is often what happens within the first few minutes after a life-threatening event that determines the likelihood of a victim’s survival, and it highlights the importance of having these skills outside of a hospital setting.
Certified and experienced instructors guide you through learning stations and test your proficiency at carrying out the various techniques. This ensures your thorough understanding of the subject matter and that your knowledge is reinforced by hands-on experience.
Upon completion, you will receive your AHA BLS certification card, which is valid for a period of two years. Oceanside CPR teaches Red Cross and is an official AHA training site and an American Health and Safety training center, so you know that your credentials are legitimate and will be recognized everywhere.

Oxygen first aid is just one of the things you can learn about, and it will show you how to recognize and manage injuries that require emergency oxygen. Reasons to Use These Courses
Most people take BLS classes in NJ because they must be certified in BLS for their careers. Types of jobs requiring BLS courses include:
• Doctor
• EMT
• Nurse
• Care Giver in a healthcare setting
If your current card has expired, you will need to use the BLS for Healthcare Providers. However, if your card has not currently expired or is only a few months’ expired, you can use the Renewal BLS. Ensure that your patients are properly cared for and receive proper training. Though it is required for working in many healthcare fields, you will probably care about your patients enough to want to provide them the best care anyway. You cannot provide quality care if you don’t have the necessary training. Therefore, it is important to take the Basic Life Support class to learn more about specialized first aid. In some cases, you may be allowed to take a course at your place of work if your company allows this, making it even easier to take the class. However, even if you must do it on your own, it is still an important aspect of your job.
It’s a statistical fact that over 383,000 sudden cardiac arrests happen each year. However the most alarming statistic is that out of that number a full 80%+ happen while at home. So learning the BLS training means you will likely use what you learn to save a member within your household. What better motivation could exists than learning the few skills necessary to save the life of someone so close to you, and most likely within your family?
The American Heart Association also released a statistic that confirms that over 70% of American adults report a feeling of helplessness when witnessing a cardiac event; the reason being that they do not know how to do CPR or that the training they once had was a long time ago. This makes individuals doubt their ability and fear doing something wrong, causing them to not act, or acting after a significant delay, and with cardiac events seconds count. The reason that this hits so close to home is that over 88% of cardiac events occur when the individual is at home. To put these figures into perspective, if 100 people have heart attacks, only 12 of them will have a cardiac event somewhere other than their home. Is it worth risking the chance that someone you love will be one of the 12?
Perhaps what most people don’t realize is that of those 400k annual cardiac events that occur outside the hospital, only an 8% chance of survival exists. Equally alarming is that if a cardiac event occurs out in public or in the workplace, only 32% of people will receive CPR from a bystander, despite the fact that BLS doubles or triples that individuals chance of survival. This just further proves that by learning BLS skills you not only have the best chance of saving someone you love, but you are in a position to help save the life of someone else.
Oceanside CPR provides onsite BLS education training, so they will gladly come to your club, work or group in order to train those you associate with at your location. What better investment could a business owner make than to have their workers best protect those they love and those they work with by learning BLS training?

Basic Life Support (BLS) keeps patients alive until full medical care can be administered. EMTs, paramedics, and emergency nurses are trained in the latest BLS techniques, and other healthcare professionals can benefit from similar BLS healthcare training.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR, ensures that oxygenated blood continues to flow around the body. CPR does not restart the heart, but it will keep a person alive until emergency medical treatment can be provided. During training, you will learn when to administer CPR, and when another basic life support technique is the better option. You will learn how to administer chest compressions and rescue breaths.
In order to restart the heart, it is necessary to use a defibrillator, or Automated External Defibrillator (AED). An AED gives the patient’s heart an electric shock that essentially aims to kick start the heart. Using an AED incorrectly, or at the incorrect time, not only puts the patient in danger but you and anybody else at the scene. AED training ensures that you know when and how to use the defibrillator safely and to achieve the best possible results.
When airways are obstructed, it poses a serious risk to the patient’s life. Clearing the airway, and then ensuring that the patient is able to breathe is considered a part of basic life support, and you will receive training on how to identify breathing obstructions, how to dislodge any choking risk, and how to ensure that the patient has the best chance of survival while awaiting emergency medical attention.
BLS healthcare training is vital to the safe performance of many healthcare professionals’ jobs. It teaches all of the requirements that are needed to ensure that you can keep a person alive until a paramedic, ambulance, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) can take over. For some healthcare professionals, it is necessary to undergo regular BLS training in order to refresh knowledge and to ensure that they are armed with the latest and most effective knowledge and techniques.
